Did you always want to go to college?
No, it wasn’t until my senior year of high school when everyone else started applying.
How did you hear about Guardian Scholars?
Another student from Guardian Scholars heard that I was an emancipated minor and told me about the program.
What is the biggest way Guardian Scholars helped you?
Resources. They really helped me with forming my study habits. My first quarter I had a 1.9 GPA, but it has improved since then and now stands with an overall 2.9 GPA.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I would like to be finished with grad school and starting my career working with juveniles. I was in juvenile hall for six months and I feel like I know what they are going through. I want to do something to help them get out and be better in society, and reduce recidivism.
If you could give a message to all current foster youth, what would you say?
