Transitional Housing Placement Plus Foster Care (THP+ FC)

  • Program provides: Housing and case management support
  • Living situation for youth:
    • Independent living setting or
    • With a “host” family
  • Amount: Cost of room and board is paid for and in some cases you could receive a small stipend
  • Who qualifies: Youth in extended foster care after age 18

Supervised Independent Living Placement (SILP)

  • Living situation for youth—an independent setting such as:
    • Your own apartment
    • Shared housing
    • College dorm
  • Amount: Possible payment amount of $859 directly (with an additional supplement for parenting youth) or a payee can be designated to receive the funds
  • Who qualifies:
    • Foster youth between ages 18-21; must have necessary skills for independent living as determined by a readiness assessment
    • Housing unit must pass health and safety inspection
